Education is a focus for patients undergoing orthopedic procedures at Sacred Heart. Classes that cover the anatomy of the knee or hip, pre-surgery exercises, what to expect after surgery, pain relief methods and physical therapy's role in recovery and how to prepare for return home are offered to both total knee and hip patients. Classes are taught by registered nurses and physical therapists.
