Medicine
is poised for major advances in the areas of treating diseases
of
the brain and nervous system. Sacred Heart has placed some of the
latest technology and medications in the hands of doctors who
specialize
in treating brain tumors, stroke, tremors, and disorders of the
spine. Partnering with other agencies and hospitals, the Stroke
Program is creating
an educational
campaign to alert the public to recognize stroke symptoms immediately
so they can benefit from medical breakthroughs.
Inland
Neuroscience and Spine Center (INSC)
Formed
in 2001, the Inland Neuroscience & Spine Center (INSC) builds
upon a long history of clinical excellence in the neurosciences,
an extraordinary array of physician talent and state-of-the-art
technology. Based at Sacred Heart Medical Center, the largest health
care institution between Seattle and Minneapolis, the INSC grew
from the hospitals commitment to the highest quality patient
care.
More
than 20 physicians participate in the Center along with dozens of
other highly trained health care professionals. Their specialties
represent neurosurgical care of the spine and the brain as well
as subspecialties in epilepsy, stroke, and headaches.
Quality
patient care has a foundation of clinical excellence, advanced technology,
customer service, education, and research. The Inland Neuroscience
& Spine Center supports these activities.
