At Sacred Heart Medical Center, heart matters are addressed within a true "community of caring." Patients are greeted not only by cardiologists, cardiovascular surgeons, and specially trained technicians and nurses-but also case managers, social workers and chaplains. The team works together to care for the "whole person," helping each patient heal physically and spiritually, as well as tend to complex questions about insurance and proper follow-up care.

The Sacred Heart cardiac team recognizes that, thanks to national awareness programs, people know more about cardiac health than perhaps ever before. The phrase "heart-healthy" is widely used, there are frequent advertisements about the signs of heart attack, and even grocery shopping can be educational, as many products bear the approval stamp of the American Heart Association. But . . . that doesn't mean everyone truly understands how the heart functions, or what kinds of options are available when something goes wrong.

The pages ahead will help you learn more about cardiac issues in general and about the services offered at Sacred Heart. If you have questions, feel free to email our office. Check back at a later date to see if we've posted your question and an answer.
